CEU: “Event massage: immediate post race massage for marathon runners and triathletes”

Continuing education course for licensed massage therapists:

Learn about sports massage

Get hands on training at the biggest Philly event

get your contact CE hours early (16 CEUs)!

Endurance sports and events are getting more popular every year, with some bigger ones totaling 50’000 participants. And at the end of these events, there are a large number of athletes in need of a post-race massage. Some events organize a massage tent to enhance their appeal, and it is a great opportunity for us, massage therapists, to volunteer our time for a good cause (most events’ proceeds go to charity), to help athletes in need, to increase our experience tremendously, and to promote ourselves in our area.

During this class, you will learn about the anatomy, physiology and physical demands of runners/triathletes, we will go over common sports injuries, you will learn a thorough sports massage routine as well as promotion and marketing tools for the immediate post-race setting. At the end of the class, you will be able to practice under our supervision at an actual event: the Philadelphia Marathon, one of the biggest and most popular events in Philly.

Our company, Phila Massages, specializes in sports massage only. From years of working in sports massage, researching our field, and through experienced and dedicated staff, free workshops for fellow therapists, we have developed a course that we are proud and looking forward to share with you.
